Cartographers have established that the longest house in the world is located in the Spartanovka microdistrict, at the entrance to the city from Volzhskaya hydroelectric station.
This is a one-piece residential nine-store building with administrative premises, included eight addresses. Approximately 1140 meters in length, which is 40 meters more than one officially recognized record holder — Karl-Marx-Hof in Vienna, the capital of Austria.
The Volgograd record holder occupies a whole block. The building has several arches, in the floor structure above which there is full living quarters. This building was built in 1975-1979 and has about 1400 flats.
Besides, in the apartment complex there are libraries, clinics, a post office and shops.
